Can I switch my reward after I placed the order?

Hi everyone, I will be getting the tote as a local guide gift. Is there any way that I can get a pair of socks instead? I was trying to get the socks but for some reason it was not going through.

Regarding your question, you can choose to claim your perk or not to claim it, but you cannot switch to another perk.

Perks are given to the Local Guides according to a choice of Google, but we do not expect any perk, because we contribute as volunteers, for improving Google Maps by sharing our experiences

@Artemisann were you actually offered the option to choose your gift? Some people got the option to pick their gift, and some are offered directly. If you’re not given the option to pick, then you can only get what you’re offered. We also don’t know how the Local Guides team decided who gets what.

If you’re offered the tote directly, then I suggest claim it as soon as possible, as there’s a deadline of how long you can claim the perk. Maybe in the future you will get socks as a gift (no guarantee of course)

Thank you for your response. Yes, I was offered to pick 1 of the 3 gifts (pin, socks or tote). I really like to get a pair of socks but for some reason when I was placing the order it was not going through and it keep saying error. But when I tried to place a tote , it went through easily. :disappointed: however, whatever it is I would happily get it, its free stuff anyway :slightly_smiling_face:

@Artemisann If you already placed the order, then there’s no way to switch, as your order is locked in.

For anyone else that happen to find this post and having issue placing your reward order, most cases can be fixed by switching browser, clearing cache browser, or using Incognito mode. I know there were a few people having issues placing the reward order on Chrome browser, but was successful using the Edge browser. This is the first time I’ve seen issue placing order on one of the options though.

I just wanted to let you know that I will mark @iyudhi 's comment as a solution to give it a better visibility in case someone else is experiencing the same. Have in mind that you can also always tag me or any other Google Moderator when you are receiving an error or you are unable to proceed with your reward.

P.S.: I will edit the title of your publication as well so it getas more clear what it is about.
