can I be selected in google connect 2020 if I am below 21 , since it is mentioned that 21 and above will be allowed , due to bear issue ?

Hello not only beer but there would be other alcoholic drinks too!

As per the prevailing regulation, you can’t consume alcoholic beverages if you are not 21 years old.

However, don’t get disheartened. Rehearse the steps and try once you attain that age.

BTW Surely the black bears will not create any issues.

@priyanshudhurandha Unfortunately no. This is one of the requirements to submit an application. So continue contributing to the Maps and Local Guides and apply when you are 21.

As you can read on the FAQ of the official Connect Live 2020 application site

And as already mentioned by @C_T and @SaifIS : “All Connect Live attendees must be at least 21 years old by the event start date of October 11, 2020. That is because 21 is the legal drinking age in the United States and alcohol will be present at some events. No exceptions can be made.”

So, of you will be 21 before October 11, you can apply

Thanks for reaching out.

The minimum age for the Local Guides program is 18 years old as stated by the Terms & Conditions of the program.

However, as stated in the FAQ section of Connect Live, participants must be 21 years old by the start of the event (ie. Oct. 11th, 2020). Yes, you still have the option to fill out the entire application but you would be considered ineligible for the event.

Your chance is of being at least 21 years old by the event start date of October 11, 2020.

Not aware of any exceptions, sorry!

Hi, My name is Kishan Rathod. I am a Level 7 Local Guide from India. Due to this reason i get a mail for Connect Live, 2020 from Google Map. I was readed some where that to attend the Connect Live 2020 program age of the attendees must be 21 years. So, right now I am 20 years old. But I want to apply for Connect Live, 2020. So, my question is I am eligible for Connect Live, 2020 ? Yes or No? Please solve this doubt…

You can’t apply for Connect live 2020 if on the date of the event you do not complete 21 years of age.

Further, you are required to submit evidence related to your birth date.

Decide your application accordingly.

Hi @Kishan_Rathod410 If you will turn 21 before October which is when the event will hold, your application will be accepted but if not, kindly save yourself the stress and prepare for next year.

I want to know if I am eligible for Google Connect event. I will be 20 years of age by october i.e. by the event date. I am from INDIA and I don’t drink alcohol. I take full responsibility for the same that despite alcohol present there, I won’t try it. Still, am I not eligible for the event?? Please guide me as there are less days left to apply.
