Can Food make Friends ?

“He lives to eat rather than eating to live”. This is the phrase one would say upon viewing my Google Maps Profile as almost 90% of my profile is filled up with food reviews only. There are many foodies all round the world but my love for food is not just an obsession. Instead, it is a way of making my friendships stronger. Let me clear out my above said statement.

In 22 years of my life, I’ve been an introvert for 18 years. I don’t know what it meant to hang out with friends or meeting new people. I used to JUST study all along (which I’m still pretty good at). But upon entering university, I realized that studying only doesn’t make you reach to your goals BUT it is the love of people and their support by which you get to live your life happily. The best way I thought was to hang out with people at restaurants and I believe I was quite right about it. Bringing the clock to present, I now have a group of some crazy foodie friends along with whom I now EXPLORE almost every new food joint of my area. To me, food not only just keeps you alive but it actually deepens your connection with others. This is a happy ending for me as along with all this activity I still got a Gold Medal in my Bachelor’s and my real achievement I’d say is that I excelled in both of my goals with all the pride!

In the perspective of food restaurant owners, this activity is quite helpful on their end as well. My city being the biggest city of the country in terms of population has got new eateries opening almost every day in different areas and not all of them are much high scale to afford expensive marketing. In this, Google Maps is a very effective way to boost their businesses and make people aware of the quality of their food.

My contributions are not numerous as compared to many other people but what I experience, I try to tell others as much as possible. And I believe that’s what being a Google Guide is all about.
