Hi everyone… There is one construction company in my area called Arihant Builders. This company is offering gifts for writing reviews on Google Maps. I like to know is it ethical? Is it according to local guides guidelines.??

They may not do this @AshishBobade this is fraudulent behaviour. Local Guides may not accept gives for reviews either. I would suggest any Local Guide responding to this offer would be in breach of the Local Guides Rules.

@AshishBobade I am not sure. But I think it is okay to ask to review on Google Maps. But if any business asks to write only positive reviews in exchange for any gifts, offers or discount that would be against the policy.
Along with you, I will be waiting for a credible response from other users.

@SaifIS Thank you for your response. Yes it is ok to ask to review on Google Maps. But after they posted this on social media they are getting positive reviews and ratings.

@AshishBobade Yes, I also think so. Because who are reviewing they know that only positive reviews will be selected. This is a bad practice I think. But this is Google My Business’s concern to check if a business is in compliance or not.

Hi @Shrut19 … I also think that as a Local Guide we should give our honest opinion about the places. We should not accept gifts for writing reviews. I have report about this business on Google My Business. Still waiting for there response
