Photo 1 - Ferry leave Sobra(Mljet)
Starting from Sobra with the 10 o’clock ferry, after a half-hour crossing, we arrived in Prapratno and a little later in Ston.
A surprise! A fortified city with a wall built around 1350 by the republic of Ragusa, which runs along the entire side of the mountain.
We then continued on a lonely road in a valley with pine forests, until we reached the state road D8 of the Adriatic coast. Very busy, but as planned, We took a road that for a few km took us to the seashore in Slano where we had a delicious lunch!
Resuming the D8 in the midst of trucks and cars with day-trippers hurrying to reach the holiday resorts.
We stopped in a small square in Trsteno where two gigantic maples gave us shade.
Then towards Dubrovnik via a very modern bridge. Arriving at the Adria hotel, which is overlooking Dubrovnik, we relaxed in a mega whirlpool tub in the Spa. The view from the room is amazing, we couldn’t have chosen better. 59 km and 1000 meters in altitude.

Photo 8 - A living testimony of Trsteno’s past. The massive plane tree, symbol of Trsteno, is a protected architectural monument. At the beginning of the 15th century, the little tree was brought from Constantinople by Captain Florio Jakob Antunov, who planted it near a spring. There are 2 Platanus orientalis 50 meters high, 12 meters in circumference
