Photo 1 - The Jelsa coloured fountain
The stage route
We ended yesterday with a really good dinner and a night walk in Jelsa. Nice to photograph the fountain with its various jets of water that constantly change length and color. Bright colors that color the night. Silence around the houses and boats in the port of this Dalmatian village. Also in this port the disturbing song of the scops owl is heard. Here, however, with several subjects who respond from one side of the woods to the other by the sea.

Photo 5 - Jelsa is one of the few places on the island where fresh water is found. In addition to the fountain in the main square of the village, you can find old water wells around the streets.

Photo 11 - Goodbye Jelsa, now let’s go cycling.
Wake up at dawn with my usual tour to discover other corners and photograph them with the light that changes continuously as the sun rises. Leaving the B&B Aurora at around 10:00, where we had a wonderful time, we took a road that from the port, along the coast, will take us to Starigrad. It took us quite a while to complete the first 4 km. We immersed ourselves in the nature of this place, stopping very often to photograph the particular views of the coast.

Photo 15 - The ferry to Split
Arriving in a small village, we took a country road that halfway becomes not be asphalted with no little suffering on the part of both of us. Today is not a long stage, fortunately, as the temperature is very high. My camera thermometer reads 30 degrees. In CittĂ vecchia or Stari Grad, we took the ferry that brought us back to Split.

Disembarked we come across a long line of people intent on getting on buses. We understand that a cruise ship is docked and we ask ourselves: but would we be able to queue up so neatly and do everything they would order us to do? Our sense of freedom would prevent us from being entangled like that.
We have a bite to eat in Split and head back to the hotel from where we started for this adventure. We park the bikes, we put ourselves in the sun and then around 18:00 we return to the center of Split and take a tour to see above all Diocletian’s villa, Unesco Heritage.

Very interesting and very good dinner, to eat even with the eyes, we will definitely return to this restaurant. Illuminated monuments and a must see even at night. We are preparing for tomorrow’s tour that will take us to Makarska, starting point for the excursion on the island of Brac the day after tomorrow. Today only 17 km and 156 meters in altitude.
