Introduction :
Happy Fifth Connect Birthday to all my fellow Local Guides.
On 15th July, we are going to celebrate the 5th birthday of LocalGuidesConnect (LGC) that we all love to bits. It’s incredible to see how LGC started, evolved, and became an important part of our lives.
On one hand, we are proud #LocalGuides who love to help millions around the globe with our contributions to Google Maps. On the other, we love helping our #LocalGuides family members here on Local Guides Connect.
Today, I would like to present an idea again which is the sequel of last two year’s campaigns [Call for Meetup Leaders] – Unofficial LocalGuidesConnect Worldwide Birthday Celebrations 2019 which was the first year for this initiative and @OmerAli was the person who motivated me a lot, & in2020 Celebrations when @JaneBurunina showed great support for this awesome initiative
To show our love for LocalGuidesConnect Platform, LGC Family and its extended members, Googlers, Connect Moderators, and every member of their team who keeps this platform up and running.
Idea :
So, what are we going to do? We’ll do what we do the best, and by that, I mean adding quality contributions to the Maps as well as hosting knowledgeable meetups to transfer the skills that we garnered over these years. Let’s show our support and love by organizing worldwide meetups to have a month-long #LocalGuides style Birthday celebration (Meetups to be held from 1st July 2021 to 31st July 2021). As many of us are now allowed to step out of our homes, it is very important to follow the movement restriction orders and social distancing practices in our local areas.
We can contribute in so many ways and some of them are:
*Supporting Small Businesses Walk (Solo or Small Groups)
*Map editing walk (Solo or small groups)
*Photo walk (Solo or small groups)
*Food Crawl (Solo or small groups)
*Accessibility walk (Solo or small groups)
*Environmental meetup (clean the world or plantation) (Solo or Small group)
*Knowledge Sharing Meetup (Outdoor)(Virtual)
and last but not least,
*Virtual Meet-ups to share skills and knowledge to help our Local businesses during Corona Pandemic.

Encourage newcomers on LGC to host their first meetup or at least join one
Show our support and never-ending during the meetup
Make only quality contributions to Google Maps and spread the never-ending love

Call for Leaders to host ‘Unofficial LocalGuidesConnect Worldwide Birthday Celebration Meetup’ is now open.
Submit your meetup in Meet-up Section and give us (me and @AdrianLunsong ) a shout by tagging in your post and we’ll update this post for others to see and follow.
Once the Anniversary celebrations meetups are over and you have made your great Recap post, we will sum everything up with our LGC family.
Need Help to Host a Meetup?
You can host a meetup by these simple steps :
+Just create an event by a post on Local Guides Connect or any Social media handle where maximum people can see it.
+Click on the Meet-up Section.
+As Meetup names Have a limit of characters, let’s keep them organized and synchronized by:
[CityName] LGC Birthday Meetup
where [CityName] → replaced with your Meetup City
LGCB → abbrev LocalGuidesConnect (Unofficial)
B → abbreviation for Birthday
For Example:
Or use hashtag #lgcbirthday in your post and while promoting it on social media.
+Create an Event by post on Local Guides Connect or any Social Media handle and Describe the purpose of the meetup with short detail like Agenda of Meetup,

your microphone. Always leave the microphone on “mute” unless you are talking.
+Host A Meetup submission in Meet-up Category
+Select date between 1st July to 31st July 2021.
+Name of Event
+Select City/Country of your meetup
+Insert URL of Your Event which you created by Meet-up post on Connect or any Social Media.
- Pick and upload a Suitable Picture and upload it which is related to your Virtual Meet-up as your topic.
+Submit Your Meet-up.
- Then you will get a confirmation pop-up message of approval on connecting in 72 hours if it approves.

- Create an event on Local Guides Connect’s Meet-up Section or any Social Media & Describe your purpose of meetup or walk and short detail what the participants should bring with them, for photo walk participants should have cameras, power banks, water bottles, etc along with Precautions for COVID like Face Masks, Hand Gloves, Sanitizers.

+Select City/Country of your meetup
