Caffeine Addiction - My Favorite Cafes in New York

There are dozens of reasons for people falling in love with a cafe, like the cozy & relaxing ambiance, simple but artsy decor, addictive pastries and definitely fresh coffee beans with the best quality.

Coffee is a must for me to start a day and there is no end for all the coffee lovers searching for one of the best around the world. When I arrived in a new city, the first search would be the most popular cafe in the neighbourhood.

I have a super long bucket list of favorite coffee shops around the world and would like to start from my living dream NYC. There will be a second post for cafes around the world.

:coffee: For Five Coffee Manhasset

The decor of For Five Coffee Roasters is modern, cozy and simple with black & white. It is located in the corner with eye catching logo so you definitely won’t miss it. The staff was super friendly and passionate with coffee. They introduced all kinds of coffee beans and train us how to cook properly. We bought one pack of Bridge blend and it was amazingly delicious.

Hi @Wei929 ,

Thanks for the wonderful post!

I am also a coffee lover and wherever I am traveling, I love to try the local cafes. It’s great that you like to discover cafes in the cities that you are traveling as well. I am curious which cafe did you like the most from those that you’ve mentioned and what kind of coffee did you try there? When I look at your photos and descriptions, maybe I would like to visit Devoción cafe.

As from my experience, I can show you the coffee that impressed me the most because of the way that they are preparing it and its unique taste. This is the Turkish sand coffee. I’ve tried in my country Bulgaria, Tryavna and in Turkey, Istanbul. You can see the coffee below:

I love Turkish coffee so much and thank you for your recommendation. I was in Izmir for 3 months as a Kindergarten teacher in 2009 and I love Turkey so much! I still remember every day all the teachers gathered and drank Turkish coffee :coffee:

Hi @Wei929 ,

Thanks for your reply!

Yeah, baklava is one of my favorites as well! I hope you can visit it one more time and buy baklava.

In my country, Bulgaria, we prepare it as well but it’s not very easy as I know.

@PoliMC I would like to! I can image how complicated to make Baklava since the taste is so amazingly delicious

Hi @Wei929 ,

Yeah, especially when it’s homemade it takes a lot of time to prepare it but at the end it deserves a lot! :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @Wei929 !

I’ve just moved back to Taiwan from NYC and looking at your posts had me all nostalgic! I love Devocion as well, and the fact that they don’t have wifi forces you to unplug for a while breathe for a moment!

If you haven’t been, here are a few of my favorite coffee shops in NYC.

  • Ninth Street Espresso (the original one in East Village)

  • Black Press Coffee (near Flatiron, nice small coffee shop)

  • And another Devocion right next to Black Press Coffee, It’s definitely a smaller more down to earth one! And there’s a secret behind the door in the back of the room!
