After an incidental click, I found that once I give comments to locations on google map, it’s easy to track it back, and that’s absolutely helpful for me to review the feelings and memories about locations I’ve ever been to; Nowadays, sharing information, taking some photo shots of places from my points of view are already parts of my life. It’s almost not big deals for me to just log in my google map account and tell stories about the locations I’ve ever been to.
This is A-Kwon, one of the Local Guides from Taiwan. Due to my working type, I’m allowed to attend my work with laptop at any place convenient rather than regular offices. That’s the reason I often search for cozy, functional cafés to work. Even to do readings or arrange meeting with my friends in my leisure time, café’s best and most convenient choice for me to do so. Therefore, half of my locations-I-have-been-to records is about cafés.
At the very first time, the way I did the writing about cafés was just like the other locations – just for taking notes of the feeling and memories in those have-a-seat-in-café moments. After visiting a certain number of cafés, I find that there are so many cafés in Taiwan and different from one another – some sale exclusively pour-over coffee, and some also do caffè; some serve cozy sofa, free Wi-Fi, sockets and unlimited table time, while some charge you 10% service fee, has 1-2 hours table time limit and not really comfortable seats. For the purpose of making it convenient to find out the ideal places the allow me to stay for a whole day/evening, keep away from the always hot, damp weather in Taiwan, I decide to add these classified details into my café comments.
People in Taiwan, my friends included, love to go to cafés. When they find my café comments on google map, they are surprised at the number of my comments and detailed information, and usually ask me for my list of cafés. Some of them even invite me to edit lists together to exchange information easily. Therefore, I not only can solely develop my “café map” but gain associated information from people fond of looking for cafés.
That’s what and why I’m loving in sharing on google map. In addition to the convenience of tracking the memories of locations I’ve been to, it also attract people having the same habits to exchanging information with each other, which benefits our life, even provides useful information to google map users, makes the world better.
