Byblos Citadel

Landmark 12th-century castle built by Crusaders from limestone & the ruins of Roman structures. This site is amazing and the surrounding area is beautiful with cafes’ and restaurants, as well as accommodation. There is also a boat marina down below.

It is believed to have been occupied first between 8800 and 7000 BC and be the Oldest continuously inhabited city in the world. It became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984.

My photo is looking from the Citadel down the coast towards Beirut.

Hi @TheEagleEye ,

Thank you for this spectacular view you’ve shared with us.

You made me realized that I’ve never knew which is the oldest inhabited city in the world. It would be great if you tell us a bit more about this region.
