Business relocated, unable to get verified. New location had a dupe.

The lxtapa Location closed several months ago when the owners found a safer Location for their vacation rental operation. I submitted phone numbers, GPS data, notes for over 2 weeks and keep getting an “unable to verify” yet no one has contacted the owner and people seeing the Ixtapa Location on Google Maps continue to arrive looking for accommodations in a very unsafe and dangerous area to be in.

Hello @FollowDaleToMexico

Ixtapa is the name of a broader region.

Further, search results on “Ixtapa location” point to that broader area and not any specific POI.

Now since your request returns “unable to verify”, any further attempts to do so will be futile.

However, there are two options to resolve the issue.

  1. Request the business owner to claim the POI. Once the claim is accepted, the owner can do the necessary changes.
  2. Or - Provide the Maps co-ordinates of the old & new location, along with photos etc. & then tag a moderator, to expedite the change.

That l shall do immediately upon reaching the owner who they haven’t contacted for any of the changes l mentioned. She should be back home later this evening.

Hi @FollowDaleToMexico

this issue is not related to the Local guides Program, but to Google My Business (GMB) instead.

The business owner should contact the Google My business Community, if need help with the issue.
