I posted a truthful but not-so-flattering review on Google Maps (and elsewhere) after a truly bad experience with a business over a year ago. Things got quite ugly and the business owner began harassing me online and in person. I ended up contacting the police who suggested I file for an injuction against harassment. The other day I noticed the business owner has responded to my year old review on Google Maps stating that he’s “still awaiting payment” from me. This is completely not true as I paid and have a receipt stating so. I suspect this is his attempt at making my review seem less valid, particularly since I’m a Google guide and my review is pretty visible. He contacted other places I left reviews and contested them until I provided them with paperwork showing otherwise. I attempted to add a photo to my review of my receipt which clearly states it’s for the balance of the job, but I may have made too many attempts to do so because it will not show up with my other photos already in the review.
Am I able to report this company’s response for containing false information?

I’m sorry to hear about your bad experience. Here are a few things that I can suggest you to do:
- Reach out to the Google My Business community at g.co/gmbcommunity where the community managers and experts would be able to advise you accordingly. You can create a post under “Spam & Policy” and explain the situation.
- We take your privacy very seriously, so you’re free to use whatever name you’d like for your Google account (or you can use a nickname). Additionally, you can leverage a variety of tools that can help you keep your information private and secure.

I have the problem that about the same, a review made some time back, partly positive and partly negative with an offer to return and help solve the issue, was given a response making all kind of claims the most eye-catching that I and my friend was racist something repeated a few times in different versions,
Now I have my name linked to me being called a racist because of a bad cop of coffee and I do not see any options other than removing my review that perhaps lead to others having the same bad experience we had how to solve this? Are owners able to intimidate reviews offline by name calling? do I have to take legal actions for slander?
