Business has changed but old 360 photo still online ?

Hello,

do you know what we should do, when a business has changed and has even added some new photos on his business listing (regular photos and 360° photos) but there is still and old 360° photo from Google showing the previous business on it ?

Should we just wait for Google to update that ? or should we report the old 360° photo ?

Thanks. Regards.

Hello @GeraldM

That’s an interesting observation.
Update of new street view imagery may take time. In my opinion, you can always report that as “not a photo or video of the place”, Leaving the photo as it is may create some ambiguity.

Ideally this should be fixed when the new owner took over, @GeraldM .

The old listing should have been permanently closed and a new created. Better let the owner decide if it is easier/better to flag all old pics and reviews or start over now and lose a few reviews + photos.

Cheers.

When a business close, and a new one open in the same place, the old business should be closed, @GeraldM , because the new one, even if with the same category (e.g. a restaurant) will have a different aspect, different reviews. This is what we should do, being Local Guides, on this kind of situation.

This will automatically solving the issue related to the 360 photos.

If the business is claimed, the owner can flag the photos asking for a removal, but in any case this is not the right way to proceed.

This is the reason why, when we suggest a change of name, Google Maps is asking us to inform if it is just a new name, or if the business is a new one
