I had a provable negative experience with a consignment business. I worked for months to try to sort the issues privately but the owner wouldn’t respond. It wasn’t until I tried to ask for help on a public social media post that they finally got back to me, but they weren’t trying to resolve it more than make excuses for nonpayment. I still made a few more attempts to get help privately, and eventually wrote a factual review. She’s tried to flag the review on Google but they aren’t taking it down because it’s not defamatory. She wrote an email this week threatening litigation if I don’t remove or rewrite the review. I need some assistance from Google. If a business threatens you over your review, can the business be reported to Google?

You experience sounds awful.
Google will not help you legally, but you can reach out to the Google Business Profile program via this page.
I hope they will help you. If not and you feel threatened you may need to take legal steps. If this will be successful depends on the laws and regulations in your country.
