This was the first ever meetup to be held in Busia. I was impressed by the time consciousness of the attendees because they arrived early. We met at Tesia Supermarket Restaurant where we had a bite before we embarked on the serious exercise of map editing.
After the light lunch, we began the mapping exercise where majority of small businesses were not on the map. We spoke to the business owners majority of whom were excited to have their businesses on Maps. Some who have never heard about Maps were curious about having their businesses on Maps. Local Guides had to explain the advantage of having their businesses on Maps.
Local guides who participated in the exercise discovered that the best way to add a business to the map is by taking the photo of the name of the business on the banner. This is true proof that the business exists.
In summary, we had a wonderful meet up and wished we had started in the morning. Look forward to having more meet ups like these everytime we get an opportunity.
