Shifa met me back when she was a student. After completing her engineering education, she took up storytelling and filmmaking as a part-time business and hobby.
We decided to meet in the Camp area of Pune at a tea stall.
Pradnya and Pravin accompanied her.
I shared my passion around Google Maps and community building around the Connect platform. We ordered tea, and at the same time, I showed them the entire process of adding the tea stall to Google Maps.
They were delighted to see everything happening in real-time, since, fortunately, I got the edit approved within minutes.
They were also surprised to know that we had a community around Google Maps called Local Guides Connect. I gave them a quick overview of Connect and how they could contribute and connect with like-minded people on Connect from across the globe.
Pradnya, in turn, also invited over Sai and Pushpak. Everyone in the group photo above is a stranger to each other. Yes, they got curious about Google Maps and Connect.
By the time we had finished sipping our tea, and the Chai pe Charcha, a community was built around LG Connect
The Chai pe Charcha challenge has shown that a community is built with an open heart, on the streets, and with a passion to encourage and inspire people to Connect
Looking at the spirit and enthusiasm, a few policemen having tea also got curious about Connect but they humbly declined to join us in the group photo, since they were on duty
I have invited everyone to our upcoming meetup in Pune that will be hosted by @AjitThite
