Been finding bugs in doing stuff with a new POI, mostly to do with the Photo’s uploaded to it.
I uploaded 25 photo’s within the new POI on date of creation, and under Contributions / Photo’s they were all under the POI name though when I went into the POI itself, it showed no photo’s, 6 days later now 2 photo’s showed up.
So I deleted the other 23 and reuploaded them, now 20 photo’s show up within the POI though 5 don’t. I deleted those 5 and reuploaded them though still they don’t appear under the POI.
Anyone else had this bug before.

Thus is not a bug, @GenerolHavoc , but an extra time for checking that Google Maps takes when a new POI is added. You don’t need to delete the photos. The photos in a new POI will appear in a time variable from three days up to a week.
It happened to me too, and it seems it is now “normal” for a new POI to make the photos visible. I’ve already escalate this behaviour to the team, and other local guides reported it too
It’s been many weeks, up to a couple of months before the photos show up for me.
And it even takes time before Street View photo appears on the listing.
It’s definitely a bug.
There’s a big variation in what happens these days. I’ve been experimenting with it.
I stopped adding photos on POI creation. There’s no point.
I added an update a few times. It worked for a while. Not sure if it still does.
I recently (the last few months) added a POI. I added a photo as soon as it was approved. The photo never got added. Not even a photo tab. Then someone else added a photo and it got added. I deleted, then reuploaded. Then it was actually added. The POI photo was taken June 13, and the POI probably added that night. The reuploaded photo is said to be 3 weeks ago, but those time stamps are usually approximate. The other person’s photo was 4 weeks ago. So, remember this. The other person’s photo was added to the photo tab. My photo uploaded the week of June 13, was not, a week after the other person had posted.
By now a Street View photo has been added.
A POI I added July 20 has no Street View photo, unless I drag my finger down on the listing and one appears above, superimposed on the map. I just added a photo. Now it shows up.
I keep new POIs saved to a private “check photo tab” list.
Another POI I added maybe a week or two ago now has a photo tab, with Street View image. I added a photo just now. It got added.
It appears that it’s inconsistent. Maybe it has to do with when a POI was added, maybe it’s something else.
I would love to know how long I should wait.
I did a test today. I added a photo to two POIs approved August 10. That went well.
So hopefully it’s better than it was. Because I’ve experienced photos that didn’t get added (no photos or photo tab) for several months in the beginning of this bug.
Hopefully they’ve figured it out now. I will probably still leave it about a week before adding a photo to a new POI until we hear otherwise.
I think it’s getting better. I added a POI that got approved (quickly) about 3 days ago. I added a secondary photo I think about 24 hours ago. It did not get added to the POI. Today, just now, it had been added along with a photo tab.
I’m adding the primary photo now. It also got added.
New update: I added two POIs after a trip. I added photos after maybe a day. On one the photo got added, and I had a second that also got added. On the other, and this POI (a package box locker) was approved quicker than the other, but the photo did not get added. No photo tab. It’s been about two days since I added the photo. Still no photo tab.
So what gives?
Update on previous post. 5 days after upload, the POI got a photo tab and my photo is on there.
I tried adding a photo while creating a POI, hoping the problem would have gone away by now. It’s been more than two weeks. The first photo was taken February 6.
The photos are still unattributed on my profile.
At this point I wonder if they’ll ever get added. This might have gotten exacerbated by the view count bug?
It’s been 3 weeks, according to the count on my profile. Those photos are added to my profile, but without a POI. The POIs were approved shortly after I added them.
I’m guessing at this point I should give up, delete them and try and reupload?
