There’s a bug in Google Maps that’s triggering the “Thank you for sending feedback” window accidentally. Like I just clicked on the Place page for Maggie Choos, and it gave me that pop-up, even though I didn’t send feedback. And I haven’t visited that Place page for about a year, well before this bug started. Either that, or Google’s secretly collecting my feedback without me knowing about it.
Oh. and this has happened to me about 20 times over the past 2-3 weeks.
Hi @JosephDewey ,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
This would seem to be unusual, would you mind sharing a screenshot when the message would pop up?
For the ease of examination, the post has been relocated to the How-tos board.
I will if I can get it. It goes away really fast. It’s happened to me about five times since I posted this, but I’m never expecting it.
You might want to check my account to make sure Google Maps isn’t pushing a bunch of 0-length feedback to you. I don’t want to get blocked just because of a feedback bug in Google Maps.
Hi @JosephDewey ,
Thanks for clarifying.
For the moment, we would yet to be able to recreate the issue, however we will be vigilant to check for possibly similar cases.
Do let us know if there would be any development from your side.
You may also use the tagging system, with the “@” so that the name of a person you are forwarding the message will appear, as it also allows you to receive notification to follow up posts easily.
Okay, it still happens to me. I’d suggest trying to trigger it by submitting feedback regularly to the app, and using the app regularly. My guess is that it won’t trigger if you only submit feedback from your account once or twice, or if your use of the app is limited on your device.
Hi @JosephDewey ,
Thanks for the updated information!
For the moment, there would yet to be a decisive result on the case, as you have described, from more frequent feedback directed to Google Maps may result the occurrence, correct?
As for the moment, I am also checking another possibly similar case, How to prevent repeat questions suggested in “Know this place”?, would share your thoughts, should the cases have a similar nature of issue.
