This post is about how to manage having budget friendly trip over the weekends with friends.
Travel.
Starting with travel , train would be the cheapest option would be train, but it doesnt operate on all days and needs prior booking. However there are other options such as KSRTC rajahamsa which cost less. If you’re looking for a comfortable and fastest option, KSRTC airavata is it.
Accomodation.
Dorms/travellers hostel are always the cheapest option to stay. But Pondy also has villas along Serenity beach which are cheaper when renter by a group .
Travelling local.
Renting 2 wheelers is of utmost comfort as well as cheap as the auto rickshaw guys charge bomb.
Food and Beverages.
Food is cheaper in shady looking restaurants and in cozy but crowded cafes. Xtacy is a must visit cafe for pizzas. Also when it comes to beverages, alcohol is cheap and pretty much available in all the MRP shops in the city centre.
Nightlife,
You’d ask me, What nightlife ? But i do have an answer. Get some cold beers and sit along the shores of Serenity beach with a speaker playing reprise, and friends , look at the waves crashing, dance , cause Pondy beaches are pretty much lit at nights too. As far as pubs go, Asian house has fully redeemable cover charge on weekends with DJ. But trust me, the sound of the waves sound more melodious than the music there.
