Budapest Pride - Pride Month

Here in Hungary the month-long Festival; the Pride Month starting today, with we are celebrating the diversity of people and the fact that love is love, doesn’t matter your race, religion, ethnicity or gender and you should have the exact same rights to be the person you are with the person you are in love with.

A company, the White Rabbit Brewery what also able to visit, created a very special beer for the celebration, and this is the Queer Bunny Beer, with mango, maracuja, wheat, passion, and love.

Yesterday I went to a little, nice pub to have a sip, it’s called “Edes Erzes” literally means “Sweet Feeling”. It’s not in the so-called City Center, but close enough to everything, and there are also some other pubs and restaurants around if you would like to give it a try.

It’s also a good point the rest a bit before you would go into the Gellert Bath, the Rudas Bath or up to the Gellert Hill and also there is the option to visit the Szikla Chappel.

The Festival also offers a lot of different events and programs, here in Budapest and also other cities around the country, in the time of the event: 7th June - 7th July 2019.

Hi @MrP3t3r ,

Thanks for sharing!

Could you please tell what kind of events are during the Festival? I’m so curious about it, and also I’d like to know where are these events around Budapest.

PS: I think you would be interested to check out the Photo of the Week: Chicago Pride by Local Guide Warren Chin and 8 LG photos that celebrate Pride around the world.

Hi, Local Guides,

As @Petra_M was asking about it, let me share some upcoming events with you. I’m focusing only on those programs only where you can participate even if you don’t speak the language, for the rest, and if you speak Hungarian or have a buddy who does, please visit the Official Website.

Tomorrow there will be the Run for Rights, on Margaret Island, what is a cool place also for a walk with your significant other when you wouldn’t like to run. There are gardens, sculptures, ruins, and fancy places for a drink, all of them just waiting for you to discover. (Don’t hesitate to share your opinion, experiences, and photos.)

On Friday, 5th July there will be a drum&bass on A38, and it’s always fun to have a party on a boat.

On same Friday there is a discussion with the title: Politic vs. NGO’s - partners or enemies? with and by Rainbow Rose, the place where it will be held called M3 Community Space. For this event a free registration is necessary.

If you are interested in the pageant, and always were curious where all those funny transparent are coming from, now you can create your own on Friday afternoon from 5:00 pm in Aurora. You don’t have to bring anything, they will share free materials with you.

In the Liget Club, there will be the already traditional Ösztrosokk Lesbian Party, for ladies only above 18 years.

On the day of the Pride March, 6th of July, we will start from 3:00 pm at Kossuth Lajos square. Meet you there, pals, and have fun and party together. The official event with English translation is here. (Dear Google Moderators, please, don’t remove this link because this is the only English version.)

For the official after party you can buy your tickets, and it will be in Budapest Park.

In case you would be interested in more details, I can share privately upon request, I just wouldn’t like to do anything against community standards in a post.

So, thank you for reading this and Happy Pride Month, everyone!
