Buckingham Palace - Visiting Inside, Outside and All Around

Much like the rest of the world, I am ridiculously fascinated by the English Royal Family and Buckingham Palace. So when I heard that you can visit not only the outside of the palace but actually go inside, literally go inside the Palace. I was blown away that, that was an even an option. I missed it the first year since all the tickets were sold out so I made sure to follow them and I can be one of the first to buy the tickets to go in when you were able to purchase them. The tour is available for 6 weeks when the Queen is away for the Summer. So keep at eye on the Buckingham Palace Tour website. You can book a timeslot to enter so you aren’t waiting all day. It’s a quick process to get inside. From my experience, I want everyone else the chance to experience it through my review and how to make the trip a little more phenomenal. First example, when I went with my younger child, 10 minutes into she needed to use the bathroom. Well the only bathrooms are before you enter or after (Wished there was a sign about this) so I hope my review will educate visitors to handle their bio-breaks before they enter or hold it. It’s a long tour of the palace and you want to savor every moment. I would go in the Buckingham Palace Gift Shop before you announce yourself. It is a long way to the very end of the tour. There’s another amazing gift shop at the end so you just want to use the bathroom in the front. It’s was an amazing experience. Much better than I expected. I love the history, the architecture, the artwork and the food at the end. This place is a MUST see when in the London area.

Hi @Emerald-Dragon-NYC

Thanks for sharing! Buckingham Palace is for sure an amazing building. I’ve also seen it when I was an expat in London. The entire city is filled with impressive architecture no doubt.

I never went inside though, how much are the tickets? How did you enjoy London in general? To me the palace is beautiful, but I think the Viennese Schonbrun Palace is much more impressive with the garden and size. Have you seen that?

Thank you! I love London. I love the history good and bad :). The tickets were $86 for two adults and one child. Kids 5 and under are free. With all the one of a kind art and rooms that you get to see. It’s worth it. I highly recommend it.
