Bucharest trip, where should I go?

Hi Local Guides!
Today I need your expertise. I will fly to Bucharest in Romania in a month to attend the Visual Playground Conference. I do not know a lot about this city and would love to hear from Local Guides who live there or have visited it!

I’ve already gathered a large amount of nice more or less popular locations listed here: https://goo.gl/maps/MM49ujwnYr82
But quantity doesn’t mean quality, therefore I would be really interested in hearing what a local think of it!

PS: I like (third wave) coffee places, art galleries, quirky facades & gardens, alternative cultural spaces, hidden bars & clubs, etc…

Thank you in advance! ?

Hi @MargotG . Do you have someone local to show you all the niche places? I’d suggest you watch out for electronic music events. I know for a fact in Bucharest they are really something to watch out for. I’m sure people at the Visual Playground Conference will know about such.

Hi @IrrPavlova ,

Thanks for your suggestions, I also heard a lot about the lively nightlife in BuvhaBuch! I will for sure ask more advices to the locals attending the conference. So far I heard a lot about Control Club which is also an excellent restaurant by day :plate_with_cutlery:.

Hi, @MargotG I live in Bucharest and I recommend you to visit:

  • Palatul Parlamentului- which is heaviest building in the world, weighing about 4,098,500,000 kilograms
  • “Dimitrie Gusti” National Village Museum- with traditional houses
  • Therme- wellness place with many thermal pools and saunas. It’s outside of the city, but you can take a uber.

Have a nice stay in Bucharest!
