Bring Up the Wing on Tiger Mountain

Image is taken from the north launch of Tiger Mountain (Poo Poo Point just) situated just east of Issaquah, Washington which you can see below. Off in the distance if Lake Sammamish and further the Olympic Peninsula. The spring time in Western Washington is prime soaring season for these folks. The lucky ones will launch from a place like Tiger, catch a thermal up to elevation and go on glide for a cross country flight who knows how far. It’s common to see these people boating around the peak in search on that invisible lift on most clear afternoons. Next time you’re in the neighborhood remember to look up.

Those skies are definitely clear, I’m counting three paragliders, what’s the most you’ve seen at one time?

Hi @feetforbrains ,

Beautiful! What inspired you to capture the image? Have you ever tried paragliding? I admire this type of sport a lot. I could see many people practicing it in my hometown and it just makes me dream of the possible view one can see while gliding in the sky.

Did you know you can also add the Google Maps link to the place you mentioned in your post? This will help other Local Guides understand better where it is located and could help them find more additional information such as recently added reviews and photos.

That’s good :slightly_smiling_face: thanks for sharing it @feetforbrains

@user_not_found It’s been a while since I spent much time looking out that way, but I used to live on the plateau and work just on the far side of the interstate, so I’ve seen plenty of wings and even occasional lawn darts flying from Tiger.

@TsekoV I was a rated PG pilot for some time until health concerns took my wings. I loved doing it, but it’s pretty dangerous.

I’ve tried to include something close to this point on the trail. The problem is that google maps doesn’t cover foot paths very well. Add to this that this trail has been rerouted a number of times in last decade. I’ve got GPS logs for most of the trails I hike or run and I’m uploading a 360 video for this trail right now, but google doesn’t play well with much of this media.
