Perhaps it is in my nature in wanting to justify how wrong they are in saying that “Brunei is boring,” but my involvement in the venturing out all the great places out there seemed to have worked into proving my point - that Brunei is indeed, a kingdom of unexpected treasures. But this is not necessarily just about Brunei as it also applies to other countries that I’ve been in. Apparently, to some extent, people are bored with their hometown.
As a person who easily gets bored in mundane activities or familiar settings, I am pretty much hard to impress. But also because I love to seek out to find connections in every new place I discover and see things as a whole than itself, that it also makes me very easy to please. Contradicting? But, of course! Giving my honest reviews as a local guide enables me to not only tell a story but also get others who are reading them to feel at present, or in the moment as I have. And I like to add photos to prove my point!
I am very specific about the places I go to and I want others who probably have the same taste as I have to be able to have all the necessary information before taking that one step of regret. Being a student, a foodie and a person who cannot stand the heat plays an important factor. I seek out to find places that do not go beyond the “budget limit” while at the same time, not warm enough to irritate me and provides a great variety of food! Sometimes, I also look for places with beautiful sceneries - I want to be able to have a profound moment and write poetry or paint pictures or take photos (I am artsy that way).
Getting involved not only means that I get to share how beautiful my country is, but also letting others see Brunei through my eyes!
