I found tourists visiting Khajuraho and also found filled with excitement and wonder while sightseeing. Khajuraho is a Classical World Heritage Site and a major attraction among the tourits. Brahma temple is one which is located in the Eastern Group of temples at the bank of Khajuraho Sagar Lake.

Its Architecture is of popular Nagara Style but the material used inspite of sand stone is granite and its model suggest that it was built in 9th or early 10th century. It’s east facing and entrance porch is almost lost. Sanctum Sanctorum entrance is not having elaborate carvings except the Sculptures of Trimurti at the Top and Ganga and Yamuna at the lower level including the floral or geometrical motifs below the doorjamb. Sanctum Sanctorum’s roof is supported by granite pillars and having stone screens as internally it’s almost square in shape but externally it looks like cross shape due to projections. Sand stone Tower is adorning the Sanctorum and sanctum Sanctorum houses the Linga having Sculptures of Shiva in all the four directions, because of this it’s known as Brahma temple. Exterior walls are plain and bands are segregated by the projected mouldings. Its Architecture is plain but elegant.

It’s a part of World Heritage Site and maintained by the ASI. It’s a major attraction among the history buffs wanderers soulseekers heritage art and architecture lovers.
