Borough Market in the city of London is considered one of the food lovers’ all time favourite places in London to visit and the evidence is in the eating.
From fresh fruits and vegetables to artisanal cheese, pates and marmalades to mouth watering street food, all under one canape/roof.
It is so highly regarded that there is even a
Secret Food Tour : London Bridge and Borough Market
to give even the most avid of tourists and travellers who claim they know how to navigate around any city, a tour that will satisfy their inquisitive minds.
London is a huge city and even I don’t know much about the city centre. I have still to see all of Borough Market, yes, even I find it a maze to meander through.
I know the fruit and vegetable stalls and cafes by the passage ways between the two sections but there’s more to it than these places.
Roll up, roll up!
An apple, a pear,
some rhubard
and a crumble,
with a scoop of ice cream
is near,
ready.
Come closer, come closer,
for unusual fruits like
kumquats and persimmon,
in small quantities
right for the purse and a budget.
Then some filling street delicacies.
All under one canope.
Through the maze of intricate passages.
A year won’t be enough to discover.
