Board Game Stores and Bookstores in Boston

If you are looking for great bookstores or board games, especially with good price, you need to read this article. I visited almost all bookstores and board game stores I can find on Google Map in Boston.

I am from China, and I have spent three months in Boston on a short-term study program. It is my first time to visit US and she is not very much like what I expected, but I love the days there. For the first few days, I did not get my sim card. So I have to did my research at home before going out. Google Map was my only help to explore the city. So when I find something exciting, I would like to share it with others. I love correcting the business hours and some descriptions on Google Map, which makes me feel good, as if I found a unimpressive treasure that everybody else missed.

I know books are quite expensive in US, but I still spent a lot of time wandering in the bookstores. I am a board gamer at the same time, and I have bought board games in three full luggage of cases plus two medium sized mailed boxes. My first encounter with board games was in BestBuy. Strange, but they do have some bargain at times.

The above Carcassonne was the cheapest I ever seen and it is the new version. I had to go back for a second time to buy it. For other games, the price was not that attractive, so you you need to press your luck sometimes.

Alpha Omega Hobby is close to my place and I bought a lot of games there. There is always a big table with Games on special offer. The games keep changing almost every week. So I develop a new habit of visiting here every weekend. I got some bargains. Even when there is nothing to buy, I would like to sit there listening to the TRPG game. I could not join them due to my uncertain schedule. I miss the place and flee market event.

Hobby Bunker, Inc. is another strongly recommended store.

Among all bookstores, I like Rodney’s best, unfortunately I did not take many pictures of it. But it is strongly recommended. There are also some other featured bookstores, but I did not know about the Connect Live event, so the names are in my timeline, and I cannot find them now.

Boston is a nice place, especially with so many famous schools. Besides education resources, the board game and book stores also left me a deep impression. The there month study is one of the most precious memory of mine. I wish I could visit Boston again.
