@OliverKIWI that’s the city if my dreams perfect photographs .even in black and white London still stands out
It’s one of the greatest cities in the world. So many things to see and the Londoners are very nice @And12-X2
A nice photo @OliverKIWI . Yes it’s black and white but I like the different shades in between these!
The organic shape and texture of the tree, I quite like that @AdamGT
Hi @OliverKIWI
I love this and all the different layers of black is also pretty intense. What camera are you using? Do you take a lot of black and white photographs? What do you like about them?
They do bring a different vibe to the photo and can sometimes be hard to translate, but this one is wonderful. It will make a good print on the wall.
Thank you for sharing!
@DanniS I think you said something that reveals the final destiny of this photo.
I always like to say: A novel’s destiny is Hollywood, A film’s destiny is Broadway. And for this photo, it’s the wall
I used a Canon 5D3 with a 24-105 F4 kit lens for travel. I like B/W photos - I only change 10% to 20% of my photos to B/W. This one is an easy decision since it was kind of against the light, the colour was very dull. If I change it to B/W, the contrast is actually more appealing. I’ve seen a lot of good street photographers use B/W such as my new favourite Alan Schaller, But I just can’t heavy-handedly change the colour myself LOL!
I try to catch the old and moody atmosphere. So glad you like my pix.
@OliverKIWI Good job! Black and white sometimes gives more depth to the photo. I like to make simple and minimal photos into black and white to experiment as well.
This photo was taken last summer in Antibes, France.
Nice capture! You obviously followed the a-third composition rule to set the horizon and the boats to one of the focal points. The contrast of the cloud and white sail. Plus two shades of blue or grey! @DanniS casual and relaxing.
Yes, I love minimalism photo as well. I saw you replied to my other post.
