Birmingham’s Cultural Restaurant Getaways

When lockdown laws were initially eased everyone embraced the staycation concept.
When restaurants began reopening I took a similar tact. I stayed in Birmingham searching for authentic foreign food restaurants. Not only did I find new, exciting foreign dishes. I found places whose interiors matched their foreign menu items.

During my travels around Birmingham, I have been whisked away to the following destinations:

  • Cuba - Bull’s Head
  • Ethiopia - Birmingham Blue Nile Restaurant
  • Iran - Colbeh, Persian Kitchen & Bar
  • Mexico - A La Mexicana Authentic Mexican Food
  • Morocco - La Tabule
  • Nigeria - Empress bar & grill
  • North India - Rajdoot
  • Poland - The Karczma Restaurant

I’ve only scratched the surface of Birmingham’s multicultural food experiences.
In future, when someone asks “where in Birmingham would you recommend we eat?” My reply will be “where in the world would you like to be whisked away to?”

It is a nice finding @davidrobertclarke would you like to try each of them? Make another post if you try those restaurants. Hello from Detroit Michigan US.

Hi @Erna_LaBeau , it’s great to find out a person from Detroit Michigan read my post. To answer your question, I’ve tried all of the places I’ve mentioned in my post. You can find my reviews on Google Maps.

There are so many more to try, I just need to find them!
