Pond Heron has a nice place in children’s books in Bangladesh and the West Bengal of India. There is a nice poem for children by Khan Mohammad Moyeenuddin There is a nice song also about a pond heron, it is a sad folk song, I hope you will love the melody of the song.
Once upon a time, pond herons were available in the villages of Bangladesh. Though they can be seen now also but the numbers are not much as was earlier. In my village home, we had bamboo bush and there we saw many nests of herons during their breeding time. But with the passing of time, most of the village homes do not have bamboo bush and herons do not have enough chance to breed and increase their numbers. In some places, this beautiful bird is killed and eaten. This is very sad.
They are now suffering from the shortage of food and accommodation that is leading to their reduction in numbers. Bangladesh government is trying to save the wild birds and beasts but that is not enough to save this beautiful bird in nature. The open water places like lakes, rivers are decreasing day by day and this bird along with the others is suffering from a shortage of food for that. I have seen these bird-eating fish and frogs only. I think it eats many other things also.
This beautiful bird is found in almost all the countries of Asia. I think it is found in Africa, Europe and America also. I took all the photos of this post in my village Chapri last year when I went there for a vacation. I have used my Nikon D5600 camera and 18-140mm lens to take all the photos. আপনি ঠিকই বলেছেন @AbdullahAM ভাই, এক সময় আমাদের গ্রামের বাড়ীর বাঁশ ঝাড়ে অনেক বকের বাসা ছিল। অনেক সময় ওই সব বাসা থেকে দুই একটা বকের ছানা পড়ে যেত আর আমরা সেগুলো কয়েকদিন মাছ ব্যাং খাইয়ে বড় করার চেষ্টা করতাম। অবশ্য শেষ পর্যন্ত বকের ছানাগুলো আমাদের পেটেই যেত । আপনার সুন্দর মন্তব্যের জন্য অনেক অনেক ধন্যবাদ। ভালো থাকবেন।
পাখির পোস্ট পড়তে পড়তে পঞ্চম পর্বে চলে আসলাম । যথারীতি, এই পোস্টটিতেও ছবিগুলি অনেক সুন্দর। তবে, এই কানা বক গ্রামের দিকে কিছু দেখা গেলেও শহরের দিকে শুন্য ।

আমাদের বিভাগীয় শহরগুলোতেও এখন বক পাখি তেমন একটা দেখা যায়না তবে কিছু কিছু জেলা শহরে দেখা যায়। গ্রামগুলোতে এখন বক আছে তবে বাসস্থান সংকটের কারনে সংখ্যা কমে আসছে দিন দিন। আপনার সুন্দর মন্তব্যের জন্য অনেক ধন্যবাদ @KalyanPal ।

আপনার পোস্ট টি পড়ে ছোট বেলার কথা মনে পড়ে গেলো। আজ থেকে ২৫-২৬ বছর আগে আমাদের গ্রামের মাঠে অনেক বক দেখা যেতো। এখন নেই বললে চলে। বিলুপ্ত হয়ে যাচ্ছে আমাদের এই পাখি। ধন্যবাদ,
শুধু বক নয় আরো অনেক পাখি এবং পশু বিলুপ্ত হারিয়ে যাচ্ছে আমাদের মাঝখান থেকে। আপনার কী মনে হয়- পশু পাখির এই বিলুপ্ত হয়ে যাওয়ার পেছনে কে দায়ী? ওদের হারিয়ে যাওয়ার জন্য মানুষ দায়ী। আমাদের লোভ, নির্মমতা ওদেরকে বিলুপ্ত করে দিচ্ছে।
