Reminded me of a story a dear old friend once told me…
We sat there quietly admiring some flamingos, those pink ones, yes you know those ones.
Some had their heads under the water, and others were standing there on one leg, heads under their wings, others preening.
“Do you know why Flamingos stand on one leg ?”
The way he said it, in a quiet hushed voice, full of reverence and a matter of fact tone.
I swivelled my head to answer in a quiet hushed voice. This was one of those moments that I just have to tilt your head to the side, a silent gesture.
" Because if they lifted the other leg, they would fall over "
He laughed and laughed,
and the flamingos flew away.
