Bibimbap in Myanmar

Hi,

I have relocated to Myanmar from South Sudan.

What a dramatic change it is.

There are a lot more food to enjoy!!!

Now I started with something that I am really familiar with - Korean Food.

Korean food and products are super popular in Myanmar.

Things can be found almost every corner of major shopping malls.

Bibimbap - mixed vegetable rice has their own stall in Junction Mall - one of the busiest shopping mall in Yangon. It costs about 5 usd a dish.

Hi @TaeyoungKIM ,

Thank you very much for sharing your photo with us. Can you prepare Bibimbap yourself? Are there any other Korean dishes you like?

@LilyanaZ have you tried it? Do you like it?

Thanks @InaS for tagging me, indeed I have tried bibimbap. It was actually the first Korean food I ever experienced and I just loved it from the first bite.

The great thing about bibimbap is that you can create it in so many different ways, according to your own taste, by choosing your favorite vegetables to saute and deciding whether to include meat or not. The only thing that is kind of difficult is finding the chilly paste outside of Korea.

@TaeyoungKIM , thanks for sharing this with us, I hope you ate well! And I hope you are getting used to the country after your move.

hey Shirley!

Well it is much more simplified Bibimbap if I compare to what I can get from South Korea.

The most famous city/town for Bibimbap is Jeonju - a city of gastronomy in Southern part of Korea!

Things are super exciting here in Myanmar!!

Hi @InaS

Bibimbap isn’t so difficult to prepare.

Actually many Koreans prepare bibimbap when we have left over food from traditional festive seasons - lots of vegetables, meat and most important - red chili paste sauce.

You mixed them well and eat!

I now have better access to internet than that I had in South Sudan and I will be able to post more about Myanmar.
