Enriching, I would call this latest trip. Bharatpur, is an Indian city in eastern Rajasthan, approx.184 Km from Gurugram City and approx. 210Km from Delhi.
The history of Bharatpur dates back to 5th century BC, when the Matsya kingdom flourished here. The Matsyas were allies of the Pandavas in the Mahabharata war.
In the early 18th century, Maharaja Suraj Mal captured the fort of Bharatpur by vanquishing Khemkaran, the rival chieftain and laid the foundation for Bharatpur. The valiant Maharaja was very keen to expand the cities and is credited with building the numerous forts and palaces that dot the kingdom, including the Pleasure Palace Complex at Deeg.
Bharatpur is also home to one of the world’s best-known bird watching destinations, Keoladeo Ghana National Park (KNP).It is a World Heritage Site.

It was a one day trip, so travel with me to take the glimpse of the places that I visited:
Banke Bihari Temple : Aarti happens at 6:00AM Morning, post aarti, the temple closes for darshan till 8:30AM So, I visited in the morning hours around 9:00AM. It is next to Lohagarh Fort. Parking is available. The aura of the entire place was different and natural. The temple has Hindu architecture and big brick stairs. Right now, the temple is getting constructed and maintained. Peak hours are often crowded with devotees. Full of heart place. Intentionally, I did not took pictures, respecting devotees peaceful thought process.
Keoladeo Ghana National Park : is home to over 370 species of birds and animals such as the basking python, painted storks, deer, nilgai and more. Noted Indian ornithologist and naturalist Salim Ali used his influence to garner government support to create Keoladeo National Park. It was also known as the breeding ground for the rare and elusive to spot Siberian crane. It offers well-defined treks which can be covered on either foot, or cycle or rickshaws. We saw some of the migratory and our Indian birds, they were so many, that it is hard to remember to their names. Images shot using Telescope, listed below.
While taking the ticket from the booth, I met naturalist Mr. Satyavan and he explained the need of taking the naturalist as they have telescope and binoculars for bird watching and will explain about birds and animals. I understood the need and getting knowledge from the naturalist is a great idea. We then took rickshaws, Mr. Amar Singh and Mr. Jeetender Kumar, our rickshaw pullers were so helpful, humble, hardworking and at the same had the knowledge about birds and animals. They have been working at the sanctuary for years now. Image below:

Market : is located near the Lohagarh Fort. You can see diversity in shops, offering Rajasthani culture. It is often crowded during peak hours. But, there is a lot to catch and purchase. The shop owners were so humble and helpful. I was so impressed with the quality of products at an affordable pricing. We visited the old bangle shop by the name Naaz Chudi/Bangle Center(Lac Bangles), they have three shops under their name in Bharatpur. Images Below:
