Bharat Mata Mandir A Mark of Unity

Bharat Mata Mandir, which was built by Rashtra Ratna Shri Shivprasad Gupta Nagwa situated in the Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth Campus, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India which is dedicated to all Indians.

It doesn’t have any image of any God or Goddess. It’s intended to have a religious unity irrespective of caste and creed to maintain the peace, stability and communal harmony in the country.

As a mark of respect, one has been requested to enter the temple only after removing the shoes outside the temple at the bottom of the stairs.

The map of India has been engraved on marble rock and prepared with utmost accuracy in which the depth of the sea and the heights from the sea level have been shown by various lines. Apart from the Himalayas, the peaks of the mountains which have been measured have been clearly shown. Along with the main rivers, about 800 rivers have been shown from their source to where they fall. Details of all the provinces, cities, lakes, forests, bordering countries etc. have been shown on this map. The foundation stone of this temple was laid by Dr. Bhagwan Das. This temple was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1936 in the presence of Sardar Patel and frontier Gandhi Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan.
