The meet-up sound interesting, and I really hope it will be approved also by the team.
However I think that, as you are giving some “limitation” you should add some instruction / explanation about the criteria to join the meet-up. In addition I don’t find Local Guides mentioned in any place in your post. Is this a meet-up for Local Guides?
“Only 12 counties will be allowed from the Jury to compete in the seven categories”. Counties is a very limited geographical definition. Counties from every part of the world? There is a Jury. How is the Jury composed? Are they Local Guides?
We have a lot of people here in Connect who write Travel Stories (I am one of them). What kind of stories are you looking for?
This seems to be just a first step of a longer process. Do you have other meet-up scheduled?
I know, a lot of questions, but as we are a community we would love to know in advance where we are going and, when we want to suggest a challenge we start the challenge “inside” the community first.
December 21st seems to be an interesting date, even if 7 to 9 PM CET can be a bit difficult for me to manage.
I do not see this as a LIMITATION because of the time management and every year will have new countries.
I am very open to the world I love to have fun and organize it: To be on time is very important and this will be my not first event (More than 7 years of experience)
For the jury, I was going to announce at the event that I have two spots. Why not you? Let’s speak about it: Calendly - Suzan Yumerova
Please do not take me wrong. What I trying to do is to have your meet-up approved, and actually this doesn’t appear like a meet-up, but mostly like a selection of people (not necessarily Local Guides) for participating to your Travel Award.
Also I would like to ask you to remove the link, as it is addressing to your business page. I know you are not trying to promote yourself as a business, but indirectly this is what your link does ("Let us find your needs and wishes. (15 min free)), and this should be always avoided in the Local Guides Community.
Why don’t you approach the community first by introducing your self here, sharing with us your passion for travel and your experience as a local Guide. And, why not, as the creator of the Travel Stories award, a non profit group where to share travel experiences?
Building relationship, letting others to know what is your passion and creating engagement, is the first step inside a community.
I had a conversation with a Local Guide just yesterday about creating meet-ups. He was complaining about the meet-up not being approved. His previous meet-up was cancelled because didn’t have any subscription. The guy come here and submitted the meet-up, and published the meet-up on his website only.
I wish you can have more appeal.
P.s.: I’ve noticed now that in your reply you are talking about countries, while in your post you wrote (maybe just s typo) counties, and that’s the reason of one of my questions
