Best things I have done as a local guide : photographing and reviewing.

  1. Most interesting thing i have done as a local guide - Photographing and reviewing.

Being a google guide has allowed to post photos and reviews of some of the best places I have visited. By adding the photos and reviews of the Places I can inspire the people who are in the area to visit the particular place which they might have skipped instead. This gives me immense sense of pride that i can promote and boost local tourism and businesses.

‌Posada by the beach: Goa - I found this quiet restaurant in goa which is quite different from the hundreds of other restaurants. It had no music, its not crowded. Its gives the visitor the feel of real goa without the bells and whistles. If I may call it an authentic experience. Once I came out of the restaurant I immediately posted the photos and gave them a five star rating. The photos have been viewed couple of thousand times. It makes me happy to know that my photos of the place is helping people discover a unique restaurant.

‌ Gouripur house : Kalimpong - i visited Gouripur house in the month of December. The great poet and Nobel Laurette Rabindranath Tagore resided in this house, he came here during the summer to escape the heat. But this house is lying in a decrepit state. I clicked many good photos of the place and posted on google maps, so that more and more people can check out the beauty and old world charm of the place and visit the place. With enough people coming in i hope the local authority takes notice and restores the place to its former glory. This would not have been possible with out the google local guide programme.

‌Nimtho restaurant : Sikkim - while me and my wife were visiting Sikkim, we tried to taste the most authentic food in Gangtok. We went around visiting many restaurants but the authentic taste of Sikkim was missing. After some research and advice from a locals we visited Nimtho restaurant in Sikkim and we found what we are looking for. The food the decorations everything was traditional. It left us wanting for more. I immediately clicked photos and uploaded them on google maps. Upon returning i reviewed the place and rated it five star. This was a very underrated place. My photos of the dishes and the place was seen by thousands of people. I am sure it helped them with their business and also let other traveler’s find a authentic Sikkimese restaurant.
