Posting photos is my favorite thing to do as a Local Guide on Google Maps. Not only it has helped a lot of business to grow on Maps but also it has enhanced my photography skills and it has improved a lot. My photos, reviews, edits has also helped a lot people to identify the exact place. Now recently I have crossed 1 Million view mark on Google Maps and one of my photos of a restaurant MTR in Bengaluru India has crossed 100,000 views. Moreover, my pics are now the top pics of some restaurants, clothing store, tea-time snack shops. Here are some of my posts and its impact on Google Maps.
Nav Durga Store: This is an Ethnic Indian clothing store for Women in Kolkata which is not more than 2 years old. Me and my the then Fiancé (now my beloved Wife) decided to visit there and they gave us some awesome collection to choose from. I quickly decided to take some shots of the store and add them on the Maps. Now when I open their page on Google Maps, I see my shot as one of the top photos of the clothing store. Obviously after that I can see them put efforts and understand how we can contribute to a simple app and make a remarkable impacts to the society.
Sharma Snacks: This place is our favourite evening hangout place in Kolkata for some quick bites. I along with my wife would visit this place almost everyday before our marriage (we visit this place even after our marriage). Their spiced tea, lip-smacking snack food were famous only to the local area. I took this as an opportunity to make them famous in the city and I gave them good ratings and reviews, posted pictures of their specialities. My post suddenly became their brand pic and now I have to stand in a queue to get my order . But I am happy to create another impact whenever I will see any such opportunity.
Adding photos to Google Maps is a great way to contribute. I am contributing to the society and helping the people to get the correct information, exact place, expand business, and make this world a better place. I love Google Maps and they way it helps people also the same people who keeps it updated. Posting Photos and the impact those pictures have made is the most interesting thing I’ve done as a Local Guide!
