Best Matcha Spots in Paris

Hello to all the green tea lovers out there! Are you visiting Paris and wondering where to find your matcha fix?

I created a Google Maps list to help you: Top Matcha Spots in Paris

Matcha popularity has dazzlingly increased in the last few years, and now you can easily spot matcha lattes in most of hip cafés. Nevertheless, they’re not always worth a visit! As a matcha addict I wanted to share with you some of my favourite matcha flavoured treats in the French capital.

Matcha mille-crêpes

When Japanese flavours meet French pâtisserie the results are nothing short of magic!

Mille-crêpes is made by layers of matcha-flavoured crêpes with matcha whipped cream in between. In this version by Crazy Mango you’ll also find some azuki bean paste in it. Pure joy!

The basics: Matcha Latte

Matcha Latte is one of the most common matcha servings, but it can also be one the most disappointing: too sugary, too bland… When I’m near Opéra neighbourhood, I can’t do without stopping by Aki Boulanger, a real institution among Japanese-French pâtisseries. Their matcha latte is just perfect, made with quality tea (and no sugar, if you ask). But it would be a pity not to try at least one pastry from their menu! Matcha éclairs, mochi, cookies… the list is endless.

Matcha tiramisù

The Italian in me can’t resist the lure of creamy, matcha-covered mascarpone! The richness of this soft cheese is perfectly balanced by the hint of bitterness of green tea. Try this dessert at Umami Matcha café, a stylish spot near place de la République, before starting your fashion shopping in le Marais.

You can find the rest of my suggestions in my list.

Do you know other great places where to enjoy matcha in Paris? Please let me know!

Hey @GaiaGemini ,

I haven’t been to Paris for a very long time now but I tried a matcha cappuccino in Sofia a few months ago. The place was rather new and it is called Wonderland. I was instantly drawn by the name of it because I imagined the interior would be something in the line of the “Alice in Wonderland” movie. Besides, whenever I hear a new place is opened in my city, I make sure to visit it as soon as possible.

The cappuccino was delicious and I had to choose a plant based or cow’s milk option. It was served in a very cute cup. You can see it in the photo below.

How delicious! @GaiaGemini

Thank you for sharing a lot of matcha spots. Yes, I am a matcha lover. I did not know that there are many matcha spots in Paris. I immediately followed your list. What I want to eat most is matcha mille−crepes. The combination of matcha and red bean paste is the strongest.?

Here are the matcha parfaits I ate yesterday.

Next to matcha ice cream is Hojicha ice cream. Sweet boiled red beans and wormwood dumplings. Below these are a small sponge cake with coffee syrup and rice puffs
