We (local tourism agency) looking to put our many county trails (400km) on the map with streetview. We are hoping to train local volunteers with a 360 camera to map out trails.
Can you recommend the best hardware to do this with a budget of $1000. If I’m reading the discussions correctly you only get 10min of street view imagery reliably with smartphone due to combination of battery, storage or GPS. What would be best equipment eg: phone and spares batteries, camera, gimble, halmet harness or backpack.
Any device recommendations or tips on making the progress more reliable?
tested the insta360 one x, I can recommend this beautiful camera and its software. Costes 400 euro here in Holland. Invisble insta360 selfiestick mounted on bike. Greetings Rob Petrie, Netherlands
The insta360 one X appears to the best all rounder but doesn’t have built in GPS.
Was thinking we should buy insta360 one X, GPS remote, 64gb SD card, official head chin strap and 10000ah power bank with dual charging to avoid point of failures with volunteers phones.
Storage and Battery
For storage and battery what’s the lowest quality required for Streeview is it 5 frames a second at 1080p.
As you can see in the program rules stated above it is mentioned that you are not allowed to participate in Local Guides program as a business owner. Please make sure you participate here as an individual and do not share any business materials that could be considered as advertising.
