Best Date Spots in Laval

It’s always tough to find good date spots specifically in Laval.

Restaurants are either too loud or too quiet that everyone else can hear the entire date. As for activities it’s slim pickings.

So let’s look at a little bit of everything we can do on a date in Laval some of which I have been to and some that I would like to experience.

Outdoor Activities

During the warm weather one of my favorite outdoor places is Le Centre De La Nature. This is my favorite park in Laval but parking is tough to find. The park’s lots are always full. They have a tiny little farm that I always enjoy, a park for kids, pony rides for kids, canoeing, paddle boats, a place to eat. Plus they hold a lot of events here.

La Ferme Forget is just nice to walk through and you can pick your own strawberries, raspberries and blueberries as well as pumpkins and squashes. Starting in August, there is the Labyrinthe de Maïs Géant, a giant cornfield maze that can be fun and in September, it’s time for the Discovery of Squashes and Pumpkins.

Indoor Activities

A little cute activity is Putting Edge in the Centropolis. How long it takes I guess that depends on how long each person takes. Doing the entire “golf course” which is 18 holes takes about 1hr given that you take your time and talk throughout. For 2 people it comes out to $32.37.

Paint Nite is a fun date night especially when neither of them are painters. It’s nice to see how we follow but also fun to see how it turns out. You can have drinks at the same time so it’s fun to see how your boozy masterpiece turns out. However it’s tough to find dates it’s available in Laval. That’s something that has to be planned and reserved. This is usually about $40/person before taxes.

Location is provided by the artist.

The other option which I have not done just yet is Ceramic Café. We also have to make reservations here and you have the table for 3 hours, if you do want more then you have to make double reservations for double the time. The price of each ceramic piece varies in general between 10$ and 20$. And 3 hrs of studio time is $11/person.

Restaurants

House of Jazz I love this place but I also love Jazz. I just find it’s a great place to enjoy the music and conversation. I wouldn’t really suggest the food here. But maybe an appetizer to be shared between the 2 and a bottle of wine or cocktails. There is an entry fee depending where you are sitting. $10 to $15+tx. For a first date I would suggest the 2nd floor because you get to enjoy the band below but also each other a little bit more compared to when you sit on the main floor. Tuesdays they’re closed unless they have a comedy show!

Sushido is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in Laval, 1 for the sushi but also because it’s BYOB. This place is quite small but it’s not usually full which I prefer to be able to talk without too many people around. By the way the best wine with sushi is Kung-Fu!
