Best advise I was given for taking pictures...

I am not a photographer, I don’t consider myself too artistically inclined but I do manage to take some great shots now and then. The best advice I was given is take some pictures, and not a few, take lots of pictures hundreds if you can. The more pictures you take the more chances a special one will pop out… In the old days film and developing film was expensive, and carrying a huge camera around your neck wasn’t convenient. All that changed today, with cell phones having some of the best camera lens and it’s all digital so there is plenty of opportunity to take some shots on a whim. The more you take the more you get a feel for the camera and the ease of whipping out a cell phone and taking a picture is fantastic. Of course taking a course or two is also helpful, which will teach you about composition or framing of a photograph like the 1/3 2/3 positioning or capturing patterns or contrast or movement. Or even how the height or position expresses emotion and all of that. But that’s all secondary, just take pictures for yourself, and enjoy them for yourself and the rest will come in time. If anyone interested, most of my pictures were taken on a “One plus 3” cell phone except my 360 imagines which I was using a “LG 360 CAM”
