Belgium is again in (this time partial) lockdown, because of our politicians’ inability to adequately react in a timely fashion to expert advice and undeniable signals of things threatening to get out of control.
Here you can get a glimpse of the impact this may have on people’s lives. This is a screenshot of the edits I made to Maps in my own city, Antwerpen. All of these are hair salons, which I have edited to “Temporarily closed”. All the people who depend on these for their livelihood, and their families, will be without income for at least a month. And this is just the hair salons. It doesn’t even include nail studio’s, massage parlors, beauty salons, tanning salons, and all “non-essential” stores. This will again affect tens of thousands of people, in my city alone.
