I decided to join Local Guides program on our New Year Eve 2017 trip to the seaside in Poland back to. I realised that there is a lot going on in every local area you travel to.
I soon realised this is a great fun. Looking at the number of visitors, getting more points and new awards. These were key factors that boosted my attention.
After whole 3 years of being active members being Local Guide became a habit to me. I am doing great amount of posts each week or each month but I make sure that my each trip leave a trace on google.
There is story about every of my 1500 photos but I would like to share a my movie I attached to google maps. I made the film on Fuertventura Island on bus trip from Morro Jable to Cofete beach. It was not ordinary bus trip. It was a Unimog 4x4 bus. The driver was excellent and he was driving about 50-70 km/h on the rocky serpentine road. Trip of my life!

The most interesting thing is to share the photos and comments with others. It is also great to see there are many people doing exactly the same, so before visit to a place (tourist attraction, café etc.) I check the comments. I also feel proud if we discover something new on our trips. Adding new spots to the map is a great fun.
After long 3 years of my activity I feel surprised with the photo attention. To my surprise the biggest number of visitors are not devoted to the photos I like most. Most of the views went to ordinary pictures of common locations like veterinary clinic or coach station or entrance door to a laundry.
That is why I think that being a Local Guide does matter. Most of the local guide posts attention goes to local activities. It is not only about looking beautiful views and Photoshop improved pictures. It is about looking how the places really look like. Simple photo of a restaurant or bus stop may turn out to be of a great value to others.
All Local Guides - congratulations.
PS. I am fully aware of the current epidemic situation all over the world and a grief associated with it. It is my personal intention to keep my post away from sad emotions.
