Being in the middle of sub artic wilderness

I’ve been fascinated by nature and culture around the world and thus it has always inspired and motivated me to explore and travel. I’ve been exploring and traveling since my collage days and I especially like taking 360 photos and this is the most interesting thing I’ve done as a local guide.

A few years back I was traveling across Europe and every interesting place I visited I tried to find a nice spot ideal to take 360 photos. To allow others have the experience of being there as well also adding reviews about local restaurants and hostels I was staying at.

As I was looking up for information on doing Besseggen hike which is inside a national park in Norway. I found very little information about a one and only accomodation (Gjendesheim cabin) that I could afford as a budget traveler. And this was in a very isolated place inside national park, with only one bus everyday. I had no other option but to go ahead and book accommodation here hoping everything would be fine.

So finally after all planning I made through thousands mile in the middle of sub artic region from my home in Singapore. I had to journey through train, two long bus rides with many fjords crossings. The Hostel was amazing I had amazing time doing the hike met an American fellow traveler and many local hikers, we shared lot of information, stories and laughter with each other along the hike and I was mesmerised by the beauty of nature.

I took 360 photos along the Hike at some beautiful and some important diversion spots along the hike, later added those to google maps to help people navigate and appreciate the beauty of the place. Added detailed review of the cabin with some tips to help fellow travelers such as to pack a lunch for hike, about hot water situation, dinner timings and bus/ferry timings. And many photos of hostel and surrounding area.

I am pleased that my review and photos have been useful to many travelers thus far and hopefully have motivated a few to make the journey.

WOW! That’s so amazing. This is really what it takes to be a great local guide. It’s all about being persistent, and consistently putting in more efforts and reaching the last mile so that people could get a glimpse of places they’ve never thought existed or would have existed before. But as the local guide’s community has got intellectuals like you, soon people will start to experience the other side of the world without getting to step their foot and could also help travellers or tourists have positive views about their dream destinations without facing difficulties.
