Being Google Local Guide means MORE MEANINGFUL LIFE

(This picture was taken in Grand Indonesia, November 2019)

Being Google Local Guide since last May 2019, I never imagine before that my life is getting more meaningful now. Actually, it is like a combination of my passion - Travelling, Photographer and Sharing with others. So I really enjoy my new activities as Google Local Guide.

In short, I would like to tell you that I knew about this program from my mom that accidentally met someone, another Google Local Guide, on the train and he told my mom about Google Local Guide and suggest her to join in. But because my mom got confused to do that, she suggested me and my brother to join in at first. Actually, we all as family join in but only me that keep doing it active until now.

Doing my passion doesn’t mean that it’s always easy to keep doing this. Last August, I got an accident that needs surgery on my leg, then I got surgery last September. Of course, it takes a lot of time to recovery. Full recovery took 6 weeks. Then it was continued by physiotherapy regularly for a few months.

Disable? Yes, I have been ever. But is that a bad word? It depends on our point of view. Many people underestimate “disabled one” so without they realize it makes “disabled one” discouraged. I have ever felt the same at that time. But with the help from family and friends, I could cope that feeling. One thing that makes me not focus on my disability is being Google Local Guide. I didn’t need to go to many new places, I could review places that I was there and even surrounding me. There are some other ways we can contribute such as CHECK THE FACTS, UNCOVER MISSING INFO and ANSWER QUESTIONS. It might seem a small thing but our contribution helps others. It brings own happiness. Besides that, because I have ever been “disabled one”, I can give a “special comment” in my review for another “disabled one”.

Why I tell this story? I hope it can encourage others especially those who feel “disabled”. Never forget that

NO ONE IS PERFECT. NO ONE CAN’T DO EVERYTHING but EVERYONE CAN DO SOMETHING.
