I am beyond excited to hear that, fingers crossed, we will be able to follow other Local Guides on Google Maps! I’m Level 8 NYC Top 1%
I’d love to follow other Local Guides. Right now I follow some faves on Instagram that I picked up via the local guides page. Im looking forward to 2020 and all the posts. What a beautiful world to be a part of…even if I’m only a speck of dust in comparison! PS- This is my first post here BUT I just wanted to say hello and get to know everyone! I’m hoping to get a FOLLOW BUTTON for NYC Top Guides!

Hi @DianeNYC ,
Nice to make your acquaintance here on the only official community platform for Google Local Guides. You say you are in the top 1% of contributors in NYC. By my standards, that is no small feat. Well done and congratulations!
I like to use this opportunity to inform you that you can also follow Local Guides of your choice here on Connect. When you come across a post you like or a person that interests you, you can go to their profile page and follow them.
Here is the official post that informs us about this LGC feature.
Happy Mapping and warm greetings from Tenerife, Spain.

Hi, Diane, how are you doing? Congratulations on being between the Top 1% Local Guides of NYC. In addition to what @JeroenM kindly shared with you about following local guides on Local Guides Connect, google is also testing another feature that will allow us to follow local guides on Google Maps. Please refer to this link: Introducing a new way to discover places on Google Maps.
As announced: “In nine cities worldwide, people will soon be able to follow select Local Guides for recommendations on places and experiences to try nearby. These cities include Bangkok, Delhi, London, Mexico City, New York, Osaka, San Francisco, São Paulo, and Tokyo. People exploring those cities will see featured Local Guides in the For You tab of the Google Maps app. When you follow one of them, their recommendations will be surfaced to you in Google Maps to inspire your next adventure”.
Notice that it is still being tested.
I hope that this information will be helpful.
Best Regards,
Alexandre
