Being a Local Guider in Brazil

11th largest city in the world. 14 million people. 1,521 Km². The most populous city in the Southern Hemisphere, eighth in the world. 10th GDP of the world. Jungle of stone. São Paulo doesn’t sleep. Sometimes it’s difficult to process the speed, the distances, the inequalities and all the multiplicity of this city.

I can’t remember when I became a Local Guider (but of course looking at Google I can find date) but I started in a timid way. Just because I like to indicate places or experiences to people.

Things aren’t easy in Brazil. Most people work hard to have a “normal” life. Today for me, contributing to the choices of each one and indirectly being part of people’s lives, is what moves me to continue and always want to contribute more. I live in São Paulo, which is a New York in Brazil, it’s the city that doesn’t stop, it’s the city where the cost of living is high, where we have to count the cents for our experiences. This consequently makes us more selective, assertive and we don’t have space for mistakes. I contribute with sharing my moments so people can have a sense of what they expect of. Of course my vision is not the same as 100% of other people’s but it’s a bit of what I experienced and a little of what I feel about the location or the experience provided.

With my heart, one day I hope to make these contributions without thinking about how assertive people have to be, but only by enjoying the experience.

While this day is not coming, I will continue to fill everyone with photos of the places I went through and my experiences.
