Google maps are the universal tool of the twenty first century. It facilitates planning trips, finding a place for the dinner or navigate through the city. In the modern world all public places are accessible by people in the wheelchairs. On the other side, Ukrainian public places are poorly designed and has no ramps for the wheelchairs.
Today I want to talk about the most underestimated place regarding accessibility for the disabled people – gas stations. For the disabled people having a car provides an opportunity to navigate freely. As a visible minority I faced the problem having access to gas stations. Now I am working towards creating a map of gas stations with wheelchair access, because I want to make my country a better place and bring it to the European level of standards.
