I recently had the honor to be a speaker in a virtual set of conferences designed by the American Embassy in Dominican Republic and their binational cultural center “Dominico Americano”. The goal was to inspire aspiring business owners, and more specifically women, to embrace their entrepreneurial path.
I chose to share some lessons which I learned from my own mistakes as en entrepreneur, as well as some achievements which I consider to be remarkable and are connected with two characteristics: determination and persistence.
What did I include? My YLAI Fellowship, my Travel Journalism Award and… Local Guides Connect Live 2019!
After adding LG CL2019 to my presentation I looked back at its role in how I perceived challenges and my possibility of overcoming them, I noticed that it was kind of fuelling me, while I was trying to inspire others.
I also noticed what a great source of inspiration this community has been and how much I cherish the interactions and the memories formed with you all. While noticing so, I want to take this chance to thank all the Local Guides family: each one of the individual members, moderators and Googlers I have interacted with, both virtually and physically. You are all beyond awesome and I am grateful for you!
As usual I live to end up knowing about you, in this case: what is the role of the Local Guides program in your life?
(Is it me getting mellow or is there anyone else who feels that being a Local Guides is kind of a big deal for them?)
