Hi all.
My name is Vasyl. I’m from Kyiv, Ukraine, and I love my city.
A few years ago I started contributing to Google Maps. And now, I realize that it becomes a hobby.
In my case - sharing the knowledge and feelings often combines with another hobby - short city bike ridings.
The most often question I hear from friends(talking about the involvement to Google Maps contributing) or someone(when taking a photo or video) is: why do I do it without any material compensation?
Typical answer-explanation sounds like: All of us are using Google Maps, and it is absolutely free of any charge, with no limits. So, why not to help each other, bringing real social value?
The quality, truthfulness, and relevance of the contributed information are depending on us, Local Guides. And I proud to be a part of that.
I appreciate and respect Google for the great number of free services that it brings to us. So, in some sense contributing to Google Maps also is the way to say “Thanks” to Google.
